As of Jan. 21, 2025, passengers typically boarding with cash, tickets or monthly passes can purchase their fare to ride and board the bus with their cell phone.  Visit CyRide's Token Transit for more information.

Fixed Route Cash Fares
 Iowa State University (ISU) students with a current ISUCard
    Any Iowa State student who has paid fees for the current semester		  Free
 Regular fare 
    All riders who are not current Iowa State students (not paying student fees to Iowa State), Visiting scholars/scientists, Spouses of Iowa State students, and post-docs. 
Post-docs** (see note at bottom of this page for subsidized pass information.)		   $1.00
 Reduced fare 
    K-12 students; Medicare cardholders; 65 or older; Persons with a disability		   $0.50
 Children 5 years and younger (maximum of 3 children per passenger)  Free
 Personal Care Attendants (PCA)
An attendant accompanying and assisting an A D A eligible person. 		  Free
 Coins and bills accepted.  Drivers do not carry change.

*Reduced Pass Information:

  • Reduced Fare passes and tickets may be used by K-12 students, persons with a disability, Medicaid/Medicare cardholders, and persons over 65 years of age.
  • Persons over 65 who do not have a Medicare/Medicaid card may contact CyRide for a Reduced Fare Certification Card. Persons with disabilities may show their Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) identification card. Medicare/Medicaid cardholders may also show their Medicare/Medicaid cards to the driver.

** ISU Parking Systems subsidizes passes for University Staff, Faculty Members and Postdocs:  Subsidized passes are available at the University Bookstore, at the CyRide office, or through the mail. Any person who does not have a "Staff/Faculty" ID card must show a current Iowa State University pay stub at the time of purchase to be eligible for the subsidized pass.
 Replacement charge for lost or stolen passes is $10.00.  For assistance with bus passes, please contact CyRide at 515-292-1100.
